So every year I say I’m not going to throw another birthday party, and every year I end up throwing one anyway. Another favorite I always say is something small, but it always ends up being something much more than small. LOL. It’s hard to do anything small when you’re mexican and have a thing for decorating. Am I right or am I right? Haha. Anyways the key to a cute party setup is PLAN! I’ve pretty much always started ordering stuff 6 weeks to 2 months in advance. I literally sketch out the setup in my notebook, so I have an idea of how I want everything to look. I order all the baked goods and decide what I want on the cake table and maybe have a focal piece. This year for Aaleyah’s 8th birthday it was so last minute, so amazon prime was my bff LOL!

This year for Aaleyah we went with the llama theme. We love us some llamas! haha Making the balloon garland was probably my least favorite LOL. I suck at tying balloons. I later saw that there is a plastic thing you can buy to help, so I know that for next time. lol. I had a metal backdrop that I bought off amazon where the curtains are hanging. After infating all the balloons, I would tie three together and then tie them to the metal to cover it. After I just made sure, I covered the holes with small balloons.

Llama bags Amazon Cactus- hobby lobby Llama- Pottery Barn

So some stores I always shop at for party decor: oriental trading, party city, dollar store, amazon, hobby lobby, walmart- basically anywhere I nd anything I’m looking for. I also re-use what I can from past birthdays, so I get my moneys worth. LOL. One tip I can tell you when styling a birthday table is to have different levels of displays which can include cake stands, acrylic stands, baskets, etc. Shoot, I’ve used books sometimes wrapped in tissue paper to showcase baked goods at a higher level. lol. I’ve collected different displays over the years. I’ve also learned to be creative haha. I’ve purchased from amazon, target dollar section, homegoods, etc. Here’s some past birthday tables I’ve done. If you have any questions on items, just message me and I will do my best to remember where I purchased or got.
